No injuries suffered in Monday wreck at Route 33-Brushy Fork intersection

BUCKHANNON – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Brushy Fork Road and U.S. Route 33 Monday.

According to a West Virginia uniform traffic crash report filed by investigating officer Sgt. Mark Stewart with the Buckhannon Police Department, the wreck occurred at about noon on Monday, Sept. 27, when a gray 2007 Volvo XC90 driven by Mark Reese, 43, of Buckhannon, was traveling east on Route 33, approaching the Brushy Fork intersection. A red 2000 Ford F-150 truck, driven by Bern Perkins, 90, also of Buckhannon, was traveling west on Route 33 and proceeded to turn left onto Brushy Fork Road in front of the Volvo.

According to a witness, Reese, the person driving the Volvo, had the green light when Perkins, who was operating the F-150 truck, reportedly turned in front of him, the accident report says. Stewart’s investigation determined that Perkins had failed to obey a traffic control device by turning left on a red-light arrow and failing to yield the right-of-way.

No one was injured in the wreck, according to the report.
