WVU Jazz Ensemble releases new album “Pinnacle”

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVU Jazz Ensemble presents their album Pinnacle, which was released on Tuesday., Feb. 27. Pinnacle was released through Mon Hills Records. This album showcases WVU jazz students from 2022-2023. The album is available on all streaming platforms.

Under the direction of Dr. Jared Sims, this ensemble highlights the talented students from the WVU School of Music and their exploration of the jazz style. The goal of the recording was to showcase students performing at a high level.

This is the latest album from WVU Jazz and there have been many albums released in the past. The album celebrates the talents, hard work, and dedication of the students who performed on the recording. This album is the culmination of the students’ hard work and the music reflects the joy that comes from playing jazz.

This ensemble routinely performs in the Morgantown area and across the state, with recent performances at the Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival in Washington, D.C. The group will be hosting a jazz festival at the WVU College of Creative Arts on March 21, 2024.
