ELKINS – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat volleyball team traveled to Davis and Elkins to face the Senators for the second time this season Tuesday night.The Senators took the first match, 3-2, at the Concord University Tournament back in late September, and won this one, 3-1
The Senators took sets one, three, and four while the Lady Bobcats won set two, 25-16. The difference in this match was the hitting percentage. The Lady Bobcats had 47 kills to 37 errors while the Senators had 40 kills and only 15 errors, a 17 percent hitting percentage compred to the Lady Bobcats’ 6.4 percent.
Notable Performances for the Lady Bobcats included Bhrooke Axe, who led the team in kills with 17. Axe also recorded 11 digs and three blocks. Emily Dension led the team in digs with 12 and had 11 kills and two blocks. Setter Jalynn West had 33 assists along with 11 digs. Libero Alexis Moeschler led the team with three serving aces and nine digs.
The Lady Bobcats are set for a home conference match against the Cardinals of Wheeling University on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
