West Virginia Wesleyan College is pleased to announce Larry Orman has been named director of marketing. He was selected after a comprehensive national search and will begin his duties on March 4. In this role, Orman will oversee marketing, communication, and public relations for the college.
Orman has extensive experience as a higher education integrated marketing and communication professional. He has a distinctive skillset in brand messaging and communication. He also has substantial experience in print publications and as a project manager.
“Larry Orman brings a wealth of expertise in marketing to Wesleyan,” said Wesleyan President Joel Thierstein. “We are delighted that he has chosen to share that expertise with our community.”
Prior to coming to Wesleyan, Orman served as the executive director of communications and public affairs at the University of Bridgeport where he led the office of public relations, department of publications, office of web communication, and print and mail center.
During his tenure, Orman led the school’s rebranding effort resulting in a 30-year high in enrollment and dramatic increase in major gifts. Prior to joining the University of Bridgeport in 2002, he held positions at educational nonprofits including a Washington, DC-based think-tank and a scholarly book publisher.
Orman received a B.A. in business administration and computer science at Western Washington University and holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Bridgeport.
