BUCKHANNON — Starting Wednesday, you can cool off from the hot summer days with a splash in the Upshur County Pool.

The start of the swim season had been delayed after a pump failed at the pool at the Upshur County Recreational Park, but with a replacement part now in operation, the pool will officially open for the 2024 summer season on Wednesday, June 5, from noon to 6 p.m.

Parks and Recreation director Jeremiah McCourt told My Buckhannon on Tuesday that crews had worked over the weekend and into the week to install and test the new pump.
