Tucker has hat trick in 3-0 win over Alderson Broaddus

BUCKHANNON — MaKatlyn Tucker put together the first hat trick in program history since 2019 as the West Virginia Wesleyan (5-5-1, 5-4-0) women’s soccer team downed Alderson Broaddus (1-8-1, 0-8-1) by a final score of 3-0 at Culpepper Stadium on Wednesday.

Only five minutes into the match, Morgan Mitchell slipped the ball to Tucker at the right side of the 18-yard box.

Tucker sent the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to put the Bobcats on the board first. In the ninth minute, She fired a shot into the back right of net for another goal after an assist by Ashlyn Ray

Tucker accomplished the hat trick in just 14 minutes as she broke free again for her third goal of the day.

The Lady Bobcats controlled an early 3-0 advantage at the 14th minute mark en route to their fifth clean sheet victory of the season.

Wesleyan outshot Alderson Broaddus by an 18-3 margin.

WVWC welcomes No. 15 Concord to Culpepper Stadium under the lights on Sunday at 7 p.m.
