BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Sept. 2 – Sept. 8 are Riel Figueroa and Grace Queen.
Figueroa is a sophomore on the Buccaneer soccer team. In a 2-0 week for the Bucs, Figueroa tallied seven goals. He put together a hat trick in a 3-1 road win over Philip Barbour and then scored four goals in a 7-1 victory over Preston at home.
Queen is a senior on the Lady Buc soccer team. Queen had a hat trick in a 7-1 road win against Philip Barbour and helped the Lady Bucs to a 3-0 victory against Preston.
Congratulations to Figueroa and Queen as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
