This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Jack Waggy and Samantha Shreve

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, the volleyball court of the golf course.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Aug. 26– Sept. 1 are Jack Waggy and Samantha Shreve.

Waggy is a senior on the Buccaneer cross country team. He took first place with a time of 17:02 in the Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational Saturday morning. He beat 71 other runners. His first-place finish helped the Bucs to the team title.

Shreve is a senior on the Lady Buc cross country team. Like Waggy, she took first place in the girl’s race in the Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational. She blew away the competition, finishing with a time of 19:11.1, well over 90 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She helped the Lady Bucs claim the title in their own invitational.

Congratulations to Waggy and Shreve as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
