My Buckhannon is proud to present another spring season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars.
Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball or softball diamond, the track, the lacrosse field or the tennis courts.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of April 21 – April 27 are Braylon Oldaker and Cate O’Neill.
Oldaker is a freshman on the Buccaneer lacrosse team.
In a 2-0 week for the Bucs, picking up road victories over St. Albans and Wheeling Park, Oldaker led the team in goals in both wins.
He shared the team lead in goals with three in a 12-2 win over St. Albans and had a team-high four goals and added an assist in a 10-9 victory over Wheeling Park.
O’Neill is a senior on the Lady Buccaneer tennis team.
Stepping up last week to play at No. 1 singles due to an injury, she picked up two singles wins for the Lady Bucs.
She beat Robert C. Byrd’s McKenna Lucas (8-3) and Liberty’s Danielle Marsh (8-3).
In doubles action with new partner Taylor Parke, and playing at No. 1, the duo went a perfect 3-0, getting wins against teams from Robert C. Byrd, Grafton and Liberty.
Congratulations to Oldaker and O’Neill as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
