The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur assists handing out Thanksgiving baskets

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur assisted the Upshur County Parish House in distributing Thanksgiving meals. The meals provide families with either a turkey breast or ham along with all the Thanksgiving goodies including mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce and apple or pumpkin pie filling.

“Our Rotary Club is dedicated to fulfilling our motto of “Service Above Self” said Kathy McMurray, President of the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur. “We are happy to assist them in ensuring that all families enjoy the holidays.”

The Parish House has also started collecting items for Christmas meal baskets. Needed items include candied yams, corn, pork and beans, box stuffing, cake mix and frosting. Distribution of Christmas meal baskets will begin Saturday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. curbside. To learn more about the Upshur County Parish House or how you can help, visit their Facebook page or call 304-472-0743.
