Susan Jill Benson

Susan Jill Benson, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

She was born June 30, 1950, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Burton and Ruth Oldaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randall Wayne Benson; two brothers, Roger and Scott Oldaker and one sister, Marsha Allman.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Benson of Buckhannon; one daughter, Nicole Wagoner and husband Kurt of Buckhannon; one son, Stephen Benson and wife Christy of Paris, TX; three grandchildren, Dakota Wagoner of Buckhannon, Kiersten Benson of Paris, TX, and Megyn Wagoner of Buckhannon; two brothers, Jimmy Oldaker and Danny Oldaker both of Buckhannon and three sisters, Sandra Ball of Buckhannon, Peggy Thorne and Mary Stuart and husband Gary all of Philippi.

Susan had a lifelong love of children, spending many years as a daycare teacher, Sunday school teacher, and 4-H volunteer. She especially cherished helping care for her grandchildren when they were young. Family was always at the center of Susan’s life, and she loved hosting and organizing large family dinners and picnics where laughter and togetherness filled the day.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11 AM in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Buckhannon.
