BUCKHANNON – The Summer Men’s Basketball League is set to start play June 29 and will run through the entire month of July.
For the first time, the league is operating under the Upshur County Recreation Complex.
The league and UCRC would like to recognize the following sponsors from Upshur County: Appalachian Mineral Title Company, KBAM Builders, Ralph’s Furniture, Pre Played Media, JesterLine, Triple K Kustomz, Whitey’s Supply LLC, WBR Utilities and The Social. The league also thanks Appalachian Oral Surgery Center and Gold Standard Cleaning Service from the Clarksburg/Fairmont area.
“We also received monetary donations from Jenkins Ford and Number 1 Auto to help with some operational costs and Stone Tower Brews has agreed to donate gift cards to the members of the winning team,” UCRC president Mitch Shaw said.
Shaw said the league is still seeking monetary donations to help pay for the overhead costs of running the league.
“We are still looking for monetary donations to help pay for the overhead costs of the league, so if any business who was not able to sponsor a team would like to help, we would absolutely accept donations to help cover the costs,” he said.
If your business or organization can help, please contact Mitch Shaw at mtshaw3@gmail.com. As of now, the league is slated to play on Stockert Youth & Community Center’s outdoor court and may also play on the outdoor court at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School.
