I wanted to step out of the box a little bit and make something in a different style than my other work, both in subject matter and color. This print was inspired by “Fox in a Chicken Yard,” by Jean Baptiste Marie Huet 1766.
I really tried to play off the contrast of the bright orange fox fur against the dark background of the sky and the arrangement of the chicken pinned down by the two playful…but dangerous…foxes.
I like to think that no animals were hurt in the staging of this print…and that the chicken gets away.
