Spaghetti dinner raises over $2,200 for rent and utility assistance

A community fundraiser dinner recently raised more than $2,200 for the Crosslines Rent and Utility Assistance program, with a packed room of supporters turning out to share a meal and a cause.

The spaghetti dinner fundraiser was hosted jointly by the Upshur Parish House and First United Methodist Church. Volunteers from FUMC, West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Parish House staffed the event, serving spaghetti, salads and desserts to tables filled with community members.

All proceeds benefit the Crosslines program, which provides rent and utility assistance to community members facing financial need.

“Thank you to everyone who came out for our Crosslines Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser with FUMC,” the Parish House wrote. “We raised over $2,200 for our Crosslines Rent and Utility Assistance program. A special shoutout to our volunteers from FUMC, WVWC, and the Parish House who made this event possible.”
