Soccer ‘Cats reveal 2023 schedule

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s soccer program has revealed their schedule for the upcoming 2023 campaign. WVWC will play an 18-game schedule, facing Mountain East Conference foes in 16 of the 18 matches.

The Bobcats start the first week of the season on the road, heading to Cedarville University on Aug. 31 for the season opener and Frostburg State on Sept. 3 to begin MEC play. Wesleyan flips the script the following week, hosting two matches against Wheeling (Sept. 6) and defending Mountain East Conference Champion, the Charleston Golden Eagles on Sept. 10.

Head coach Josh Spencer’s group visits Concord on Sept. 13 before returning back to Buckhannon to finish non-conference play against California (Pa.) on Sept. 17. The ‘Cats resume conference play with a two-game road trip, squaring off with Alderson Broaddus on Sept. 20 and traveling to Davis & Elkins for a rivalry matchup on Sept. 23. The orange & black finish off the month against Notre Dame College at home in a midweek matchup on the 27th.

WVWC opens up October on the road, traveling to West Liberty on the 1st. The Bobcats welcome Alderson Broaddus on Oct. 8 prior to hitting the road for a quick stop at Wheeling on Oct. 8. Wesleyan will be home for back-to-back matches against Concord (Oct. 15) and Frostburg State (Oct. 18). Following the homestand, the ‘Cats are at Charleston on Oct. 22 and at Notre Dame College on Oct. 25 for their final road games of the season. WVWC closes the 2023 campaign out at Culpepper Stadium with matches against West Liberty (Oct. 29) and Davis & Elkins (Nov. 1) for Senior Day.
