Samuel Everett Leigh

Samuel Everett Leigh, age 30, passed from this life to the next with His Savior on October 28, 2025.

Sam was born March 14, 1995, in Clarksburg, WV to Everett N. (Nick) Leigh and Elizabeth A. (Betsy) Ritter Leigh, who survive. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved son, Chase Leigh, of Buckhannon; sisters: Rachel Leigh of Pittsburgh, PA and Stephanie (David) Maurer of Fairborn, OH; maternal grandmother Mary Sue Ritter; aunts and uncles: Rosalee Lanham, Bob Leigh, Steve Leigh, Jerry (Karen) Leigh, Judith (Duane) Stoeckle, Jim (Lynn) Ritter, and Julie (Steve) Neff; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Everett (Dick) Leigh and Zana (Butcher) Leigh, and maternal grandfather James (Jim) Ritter.

Sam was a loving dad to Chase, and was never prouder nor happier than the day he was born. He was a big-hearted, kind soul who liked helping people. He also enjoyed playing video games with Chase, cooking, playing guitar, singing, and writing songs.

Sam graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 2013 and Fred W. Eberle Technical Center in 2014, where he represented Upshur County at the State SkillsUSA competition in auto technology.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at The Way of Holiness Church, Rt. 33 West, 2337 Old Weston Rd., Buckhannon, with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Way of Holiness Church, PO Box 1205, Buckhannon, WV 26201, or The Mountain Church of God, 16 Thurman Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201, or One Unique Recovery (OUR) House, PO Box 1134, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
