Richard Frederick Dille, 70, of Rock Cave, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
He was born in Wheeling on April 30, 1954, a son of Basil Frederick Dille of Mocksville, NC, and the late Kathryn Spaar Dille.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bambi Lynn Spence Dille; two children: Charity Lynn Ratliff and husband, David, of Lancaster, OH, and Amanda Louise Sillman and husband, Nathan, of Ireland; seven grandchildren: Aron, Joseph, Mizuki, Brett, Christian, Olivia, and Joshua; one brother, Alan Dille of Mocksville, NC; and one sister, Diana Dille of Stockport, OH.
Richard was a proud graduate of Morgan High School, class of 1972. His unwavering faith was an essential part of his life, and he was a cherished member of the Canaan Community Church.
As a Supervisor for the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks for over 29 years, Richard loved his work, pouring his heart and soul into his job. His dedication was not only reflected in his long tenure but also in the respect and admiration he earned from his colleagues.
Richard’s love for the outdoors was not confined to his work. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he found considerable joy in farming. His connection with the land was deep and passionate, reflecting a man who loved the simple pleasures of life. Richard’s other passions included auctioneering and riding motorcycles, activities that brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 p.m., in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Lee officiating. Following the services, Richard’s request for cremation will be honored.
