Rev. Austin Alvin Angle, Jr.

Rev. Austin Alvin Angle, Jr., age 92, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born December 16, 1931, in Matoka, WV. On February 13, 1955, he married Sallie Ann Coffman who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Angle Barnette (Sheldon) and Wilma Sue Angle Crow (Stephen); four grandchildren, Jordan Owen (Jennifer), Casey Johnson (Justin), Jesse Crow (Kaitlyn), and Anna Crow and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Cade Owen.

Rev. Angle was a United Methodist Pastor for over 40 years and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church for 30 years. He was an amateur “Ham” radio operator, K8MHC and a member of Good Sam Camping Club. Alvin loved his wife of 69 years, his family, and his friends. He also enjoyed collecting things and fixing things. He and Sallie were known to many locals as the couple who took daily walks in the neighborhood.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024, 2PM at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Rebelo officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in his memory.
