Reta Jane Smith Hamner

Reta Jane Smith Hamner, 63, of Rock Cave, W.Va., died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her home.

She was born November 29, 1957, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert Harrison and Delena Lucille Smith.

On July 4, 1994, she married Stanley Lynn Hamner who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Trecie Sipe and husband Matthew, Chasity Dawn Pascoe and husband Samuel all of Buckhannon and Kayle Lynn Zickefoose-McAlary of South Point, Ohio; two sons, Stanley Lynn Hamner, Jr. and wife Emily of Buckhannon and Rodney Lee Hamner; seven granddaughters, Alysia Bean and husband Steven, Shoshana and Charvelle White all of Buckhannon, Brooke Rutter and husband Billy of Rock Cave, Mecca Nesbitt, Layla Pascoe (twin) and Virginia Wyatt both of Buckhannon; six grandsons, Brandon Flesher, Jamal Nesbitt of Mill Creek, W.Va., Landon Pascoe and Danny Hedrick both of Buckhannon and Jordan Lear and Logan McAlary both of South Point, Ohio; one brother, Ronald Lee Smith and wife Melissa of Weston, W.Va.; one sister, Melinda Diann Baum of Buckhannon; three nieces, Rebecca and Krystal both of Pa. and Rhonda of Buckhannon; three nephews, Jonathan of Pa., Robert of Buckhannon and Michael; sister-in-law, Julia Hamner of Rock Cave; special friend, Jeff Bennett of Buckhannon and mother-in-law, Juanita Hamner of Rock Cave.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kayla Pascoe (twin) and one brother Roger Neal Smith.

Mrs. Hamner was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing stonework, sitting outside by the fire, camping and listening to music.

Friends will be received Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In honoring Mrs. Hamner’s wishes she will be cremated after the service.
