Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon announces Healthy Communities grant awards

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Board of Trustees and staff of the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon are pleased to announce their 2020-21 Healthy Communities Initiative awards.

The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon selected 13 nonprofit organizations to receive a total of $105,468 to support initiatives that contribute to healthy communities. These organizations deliver health-related services in a five-county region and operate with small-to-mid-size budgets.

Individual grant awards range from $1,500 to $15,000. Based on the mission and needs of the organization, funds will support projects that address issues such as food insecurity, child abuse prevention, substance-use disorder recovery, health education and staff development.

“Our board and staff were impressed by the passion of these organizations and their commitment to improving the health of people in their communities,” said Janell Ray, Executive Director of The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon. “We are pleased to partner with these organizations in support of these essential initiatives. The potential of these projects to impact the health and wellbeing of our communities is inspiring.”
