Oliveto scores twice as Lady Bucs continue to pour in goals in 5-1 win over North Marion

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur soccer Lady Bucs ran their winning streak to four games with a dominating 5-1 victory over the visiting North Marion Huskies Tuesday evening at the high school.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 30 minutes but they finished with a flurry in the opening half.

The Lady Bucs scored their first goal when Catherine Oliveto dropped in a free kick over the North Marion keeper for an unassisted goal in the 31st minute.

Just two minutes later Kya Huggins scored on a direct kick for North Marion, making it a 1-1 game.

Six minutes later, right before the half ended, the Lady Bucs retook the lead on a Sheridan Phillips goal after she played a cross from Lexi Kelley, giving B-U at 2-1 lead.

Oliveto scored her second goal of the game when she twisted through the defense in a run down the middle of the field, finishing from 10 yards out and upping the Buckhannon-Upshur advantage to 3-1 in the 45th minute.
