Multiple fire departments respond to Kalafat Drive structure fire

Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire on Kalafat Drive in Buckhannon on Saturday, February 7, according to the Buckhannon Police Department.

Buckhannon PFC J. Warner assisted State Trooper C. Elmore at the scene. First responders were able to evacuate multiple occupants from the burning residence. No one sustained serious injuries.

The Buckhannon Fire Department and Upshur County EMS responded to the scene, along with mutual aid from the Elkins Fire Department, Adrian Fire Department and Washington District Fire Department.

The names of the occupants involved have not been released, and the incident is currently being investigated by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office, according to the Buckhannon Police Department.

The BPD also thanked Sheetz in Buckhannon for donating hot coffee to the first responders involved.
