Marvin Lee Rowan

Marvin Lee Rowan, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.

He was born February 20, 1943, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Otis Clark and Teresa Carrie Bailey Rowan.

On July 21, 1973, he married Geraldine “Gerri” Kay Jeffries Rowan who preceded him in death on April 8, 2016. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Marika Shantel Phillips; two sisters, Bonnie Livingston and Vada Helmick and one brother, Otis Junior Rowan.

He is survived by five children, Jonathan Rowan and wife Emily of Salisbury, NC, Anthony Rowan of Buckhannon, Shannon Rowan and companion Steve Zickefoose of Buckhannon, Brandy Claypool and husband Charles of Buckhannon and Jeremy Rowan of Buckhannon; ten grandchildren, Alexus Smith and husband Brooks of Buckhannon, Hunter Freeman and wife Kianna of Tallmansville, WV, Jerika Herron and husband Ethan of Tallmansville, Logan Freeman and companion Cloey Warner of Buckhannon, Rodney Rowan of Buckhannon, Shawn Rowan of Buckhannon, Otto Rowan of Weston, WV and Austin, Sienna and Quinn Rowan all of Salisbury, NC; several great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Rowan and wife Margaret of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rowan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Moore Business Forms as a mechanic. Mr. Rowan loved going to yard sales with his dog, Shaggy and family get togethers. He was an avid clock collector, buying even broken clocks to fix.

In honoring Mr. Rowan’s wishes he will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
