Lonnie Ray Kincaid, 78, of Ireland, passed away at home on Monday, October 20, 2025.
He was born in Wildcat on October 11, 1947, a son of the late L.B. Kincaid and Madge Wimer Kincaid. Lonnie was also preceded in death by one brother, Waymon Kincaid; one sister, Geneva Bruffy; and one brother-in-law, Van Moats.
Forever cherishing their memories of Lonnie are four children: Sheila Kincaid of Wildcat, Lonnie Shannon “Bub” Kincaid of Buckhannon, Sharmalee Moore and husband, Jerry, of Beaufort, SC, and Jason Kincaid and companion, Electa Kelley, of Wildcat; five grandchildren: Josh Kincaid and wife, Kelsey, Shawna Posey, Elonna Kincaid, Chase Kincaid, and Matthew Kincaid; two great grandchildren; one sister, Jeannie Moats of Walkersville; mother of his son, Denise Gunter of Napier; and neighbor and long time friend, James Kelley of Wildcat.
As an avid outdoorsman, Lonnie found joy in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. Whether it was hunting in the stillness of dawn, reeling in a catch after a patient afternoon of fishing, or tending to his thriving garden, he was most at peace when he was immersed in nature. His love for the outdoors didn’t stop there. He also loved camping, a hobby that allowed him to intimately connect with the world around him. In many ways, the tranquility and simplicity of these activities reflected Lonnie’s own approach to life.
Lonnie was not just known for his love for the outdoors and bear hunting, but was also a Heavy Equipment Operator for Operating Engineers, he displayed dedication, precision, and a keen understanding of his craft. His work as a big truck driver is a testament to his resilience and determination. Lonnie was also a faithful Christian who always kept his faith at the forefront of his life. His faith guided his actions and decisions, inspiring those around him.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral & Cremation – Alkire Chapel located at 190 Wildcat Road in Ireland from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 in the Alkire Funeral Chapel with Pastors Eddie Wade and John David Bush officiating. Interment will follow at Kincaid Cemetery in Ireland.
