Learn how to shoot great travel and night photos with Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club classes

BUCKHANNON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Camera Club, in cooperation with Mountaineer Photo Excursions (MPEx), is offering two photo classes later this month.

MPEx is about teaching and learning photography.  Instructors Ron Gaskins and Amanda Haddox offer workshops in interesting, attractive and exciting locations, and classes for both beginners and experienced photographers.

On Saturday, March 30, the BUCC will host the two classes: Travel Photography and Night Photography – Doing It In The Dark.  Travel Photography will begin at 10 a.m. and finish by 12:30 p.m.  Night Photography will begin at 1 p.m., and will end by 3:30 p.m. The cost of each class is $25 (plus tax), and is payable via the online registration (see below).

Travel Photography: Do you see photos that make you want to visit all those beautiful locations? Do you look at other people’s photos and wonder why yours don’t look interesting or fun or have that punch?

Whether it is a family vacation, a business trip, or a weekend photo adventure, your planning will make the difference between bringing back amazing photos or only having excuses.  Travel photographers have a goal; to tell the story of a place!  You must capture the adventure!

Night Photography – Doing It In The Dark:  Have you ever wanted to take pictures at night but have convinced yourself that it is too difficult?  Do you think you need more equipment than you already have?  Have you tried taking pictures at night and were frustrated with your results?

This class will teach you that it is easier than you think!  Learn the best time to go out, what settings to use, and creative techniques to help you get incredible photos in low light and after the sun goes down using the equipment you already own!

Classes will be taught at the Upshur County Senior Center, located in Buckhannon at 28 North Kanawha Street.  Please use the rear entrance.  Gaskins and Haddox will also share a short program on their full schedule of 2019 photgraphy workshops, offered at locations across the eastern United States.

These classes are available to BUCC members, as well as the public.  Advance registration is required at the respective links:
