TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs are ready to step foot outside the state for a pair of games this week in the 2021 California (Pa.) Holiday Hoop Fest.

The Lady Bucs will play a pair of games the at California (Pa.) University Convocation Center this Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, they will play West Greene (Pa.) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and then face Pittsburgh Allderdice on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Rob Kittle explained why his Lady Bucs are heading north for two games this week.

“I’ve had a relationship with the coaches at Cal since they recruited Lauren Bennett,” remarked Kittle. “So, I was needing a few games to complete my schedule this year and they had an opening. These games will be against quality opponents and are definitely going to help us get ready for the meat of our conference schedule.”

West Greene is 4-1 on the season while Pittsburgh Allderdice is 2-0 on the year.

The Lady Bucs will head to Cal with a perfect 4-0 record with wins over Preston, Lewis County, Lincoln and Musselman.

“Our expectations are to go up there and win two games and to get overall better with North Marion coming to our place after the  tournament,” concluded Kittle. “Hopefully, these games can help us get ready for them and the tough schedule that is waiting on us after the holidays.”
