Kathleen Myriel Casto

Kathleen Myriel Casto, 97, of Buckhannon, departed this life to be reunited with her loves in Heaven on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She was born on June 5, 1925, in Point Marion, PA, the only child of the late Londa “Bob” William and Nella Marie Wiseman Campbell.

On August 28, 1944, Kathleen married Cecil Junior Casto who preceded her in death on June 5, 1998. They shared 54 years together. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Myriel Jean Casto.

Forever cherishing their memories of Kathleen’s fun nature are one son, Darwin Casto and companion, Jo Kerns, of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Jennie Barnette and husband, Jon, of Buckhannon; one grandson, Tim Casto and wife, Sharon, of Catlett, VA; one great-grandson, Todd Casto and wife, Kaylin, of Radford, VA; two great-granddaughters: Sara Casto of Catlett, VA, and Brianna Barnette of Buckhannon; one great-great-granddaughter, Kinsley Casto of Radford, VA; two step-great-grandsons; one step-great-granddaughter; two-step-great-great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was a Christian by Faith and a member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker for over 75 years. Kathleen loved collecting cardinals, angels, salt and pepper shakers, and crafting. All of the decorations on her Christmas tree were homemade. She also made beautiful cakes. One of her family’s favorites was the “complicated” butterfly shaped cake. Kathleen was the oldest and longest member of the Upshur County CEOS club and the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Women’s club.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Funeral Services will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Guy Ware and Pastor Mitchell Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Nebo Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
