SOUTH CHARLESTON — Summer adventures continue with the West Virginia State Parks Ultimate Adventurer and Junior Adventurer Challenges.

These challenges lead adventurers of any experience level on a series of outdoor explorations throughout the State Parks system. To add to the excitement, a giveaway is also available to those who participate in the Ultimate Adventurer Challenge.

Anyone who completes the Ultimate Adventurer Challenge can fill out a form at one of six state park gift shops to be entered to win a free year of state park lodging. Only one person will win this giveaway. Ultimate Adventurer Challenge participants will also receive an exclusive gift pack. To receive the gift pack and enter the giveaway, participants must turn in a completed challenge card at one of the following West Virginia State Parks gift shops:

• Blackwater Falls State Park
• Chief Logan State Park
• Hawks Nest State Park
• Pipestem Resort State Park
• Twin Falls Resort State Park
• Tygart Lake State Park

Here’s how to join the Ultimate Adventurer Challenge:

1. Go online to WVstateparks.com/adventurerchallenges.
2. Click the “Request A Free Ultimate Adventurer Challenge Card” button and fill out the form.
3. Receive a challenge card in the mail.
4. Complete each challenge and get the card stamped at any park office or gift shop.
5. Post photos as you complete each challenge on Twitter or Instagram with #AlmostHeaven and #WVstateparks.
6. Turn the challenge card in at select WV State Parks gift shops and receive an exclusive gift pack.
7. While getting your gift pack, fill out an entry form for the giveaway.

Children also have an opportunity to participate in the Junior Adventurer Challenge. The challenges are open through September 30 and all details can be found online at WVstateparks.com/adventurerchallenges, where free challenge cards can be requested.
