John James George

John James George, 75, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at his home.

He was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Reynoldsville, W.Va., a son of the late Paul Edward and Helen Mary Bell George.

On May 18, 1991, he married Tressie Lane George who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, John James George, Jr. of Beckley, W.Va. and Ronnie Lewis George and fiancée Ashleigh of Clarksburg, W.Va.; four daughters, Wanda Moneypenny and husband Rob of Weston, W.Va., Lisa Barker and husband Joe of Nutter Fort, W.Va., Kelly Sturm and husband Mart of Buckhannon and Angie Jones and husband Steve of Cairo, W.Va.; seven grandsons, Logan, Brandon and Jacob Moneypenny all of Weston, Tyler Sturm and wife Karoline of Buckhannon and Michael, Marcus and Jordan Jones all of Cairo; three granddaughters, Twila Ollom and husband Jeremy of Salem, W.Va., Ashley Gordon and husband Tyler and Kaitlyn Sturm all of Buckhannon; one great-grandson, Jackson Ollom of Salem; one great-granddaughter, Emma Ollom of Salem; one sister, Carol Martin of Salem; sister-in-law, Gay Snyder of Buckhannon; beloved dog, Chloe; best friends, Archie Williams of Cleveland, W.Va. and Jim Page of Buckhannon.

Mr. George served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a truck driver and a Christian by faith. Mr. George loved wood working and old Hot Rods.

Friends will be received for a memorial gathering on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Jessie and Pastor Bob Anderson officiating.

The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
