Janice Louise Bennett

Janice Louise Bennett, 82, of Buckhannon, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born in Newbrighton, PA, on February 12, 1939, a daughter of the late Donald Daniel and Elvira Isabell Winters Shaffer. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly D. Crabtree; her first husband, James Baughman; her second husband, Anthony J Holoweiko; one son, Richard Leroy Shaffer; and one sister Margarete Mae Roser .

On December 11, 1976, Janice married Robert Dane Bennett and they shared the next 41 years until his passing on October 16, 2017.

Forever cherishing their memories of Janice’s supportive nature are two sons:  Mark Allen Baughman and Dale F. Baughman Sr. and wife, Shelley, all of Buckhannon; four step-daughters:  Linda Teter and husband, Bill, of Chester, SC, Mary Ann Bennett of Pittsburgh, PA, Sandra Friedrich and husband, Bob, of Saint Cloud, FL , and Kima Vidovich of Saint Cloud, FL; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one niece, Cindy McNary of New Castle, PA.

After graduating from high school, Janice took some nursing classes and was a nurse’s aide in Pennsylvania. She later spent her days taking care of her home and family. A Christian by faith, she attended the Independent Word of Life Church and was formerly a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church both in Buckhannon. Janice was a member of the CEO’s and the Ladies Aid Group. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, browsing on Facebook, and singing at church. Her family thoroughly enjoyed her cooking and will miss her dearly.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Guy Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Cave Cemetery.
