High school, middle school students can ride the bus to library beginning Sept. 3

TENNERTON — Getting homework done right after school just got a little easier, thanks to an effort to shuttle middle school and high school students to the Upshur County Public Library.

According to information distributed at the Upshur County Board of Education meeting last week, students in grades 6-12 will be allowed to ride a designated bus from Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School and Buckhannon-Upshur High School to the Upshur County Public Library in Tennerton after school beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3

Students should follow the normal rules for riding a different bus by bringing a note from a parent or guardian allowing the student to ride the bus to the library.

  • From B-UMS: Students should ride Bus No. 76
  • From B-UHS: Students should ride bus No. 95.

The Upshur BOE would like to remind students the library is a place for reading and study, and disruptive behavior will result in the revocation of students’ library privileges. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their student is picked up before the library closes at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. Friday.
