Hank Ellis Insurance takes lead in men’s golf league standings

Hank Ellis Insurance surged into first place in the Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League after a decisive win, while First Community Bank leaped from last to a tie for fourth with Feola’s Flowers.

TENNERTON – Hank Ellis Insurance had a big week in the 2025 Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League.

Not only did they defeat Lisa Cain Edward Jones by a 23 ½-16 ½ score but that win propelled them into first place in the league as they now have 45 ½ points.

Last week’s leader, High Point Construction dropped a 22-18 decision to Highland Landscaping. That kept Highland Landscaping in second place with 45 points while High Point Construction dropped to third place with 43 ½ points.

Feola’s Flowers moved up one spot into a tie for fourth place after downing  Custom Cabinets by a 20 ½-19 ½ count.

First Community Bank made the biggest moving jumping from last place into a tie with Feola’s Flowers after a huge 25 ½-14 ½ win over Sam’s Pizza. Both teams have 40 points.

Chris Brady of First Community Bank won Low Actual honors with a 34 while Jerry Cochran of Feola’s Flowers won Low Net honors with a 30.
