GSC’s alumni weekend slated; announces graduates to be honored


GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Alumni and friends of Glenville State College are invited back to campus for Alumni Weekend on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.

Several activities are planned for the weekend, culminating with the popular evening alumni awards banquet. Alumni banquet attendees may gather in the third floor pre-function area of the Mollohan Campus Community Center from 4-5 p.m. for a social hour prior to dinner in the ballroom. Activities earlier in the day will allow everyone to socialize, reminisce, and re-establish contact with fellow Pioneers.

The Alumni Center will open at noon on Saturday and will provide an opportunity for socializing. Returning alumni may take part in tours of campus that will be offered throughout the day.

The evening’s banquet spotlight will be on the Alumni Association’s guests of honor: Alumnus of the Year Kenneth Kuhl ‘82; Alumni Achievement Award recipient Terry Williams ‘74; Community Achievement Award honoree Woodrow “Woody” Wilson ‘76; Alumni Service Award recipient Debra “Debbie” (Reed) Nagy; Outstanding Teacher Award recipients Timothy James ‘79 and Amy (Riddle) Chapman ‘08; Alumni Chapter Award recipient Patricia (Walcutt) Lydon ‘68; Outstanding Young Alumna Tiffani Huffman ‘14; and Outstanding Young Alumnus Jacob Lilly ‘08.

Special recognition will be made to Andy Marchal for his service to the United States Military.

In memoriam tributes will also take place at the banquet for Cathy (White) Snuffer ‘86, Janet (Hall) Gainer ‘62, Virginia (Hart) Yeager ‘75, Paul McKown ‘59, Stanley Pickens ‘60, and Oliver Hunt ‘55.
