Golf Bucs open campaign fourth in the Buccaneer Open; Lockwood places fifth

WESTON – Parker Lockwood finished fifth out of 36 golfers for the Buckhannon-Upshur golf Buccaneers in their debut last week in the six-team Buccaneer Open at the Stonewall Resort.

Lockwood shot an 85 to lead the Bucs.

Jevon Westfall was second on the B-U team with a 105 followed by Easton Perkins with a 106, Jaden Westfall with a 109, Jerin Westfall with a 115 and Drahden Rice with a 119.

University’s Landon Spiker earned low medalist honors with a 77 while teammates Adam Argabrite finished second with an 82 and Owen Estell was third with an 83.

Those top three finishes gave University the team title with a score of 345 while Elkins was runner-up carding a 366.

The Bucs finished fourth with a 405.

The Bucs will be back in action Thursday at the Stonewall Resort with Morgantown and Petersburg.
