Funding initiative opening Jan. 9 to provide grants to health-focused nonprofit organizations in five counties

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. –  The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon will begin accepting grant applications Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, for its next Healthy Communities Initiative, which provides funding to health-focused nonprofit organizations serving Barbour, Lewis, Randolph, Upshur and Webster counties in West Virginia.

“We are excited to partner with dedicated nonprofits that inspire people to make healthier choices,” said Janell Ray, Executive Director of the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon. “These organizations provide important services that address a variety of health-related challenges in the community, such as access to food and health care, treatment of substance use disorder, and chronic disease management.”

The Healthy Communities Initiative provides up to $25,000 in grant funding to organizations for continuation or development of health and wellness, capacity building, and spiritual and pastoral care programs that align with the Foundation’s mission to support transformative health initiatives in the Buckhannon area.

Grant applications will be accepted through Feb. 6, 2024, and awards will be announced in late March. Eligibility requirements and application guidelines are available online at https://pallottinebuckhannon.org/healthy-communities-initiative/.
