The Fred Brooks Garden Club met Nov. 25 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church for their annual Christmas Swag making activity.  Club members make Christmas Swags each year to donate as decorations for the County Courthouse, County Annex building, the Post Office, the Health Department, and Buckhannon City Hall.  Fresh cut pine and holly were used this year to make the swags, which were topped off with a decorative red Christmas bow.

A short business meeting was held during which President Cindy Phillips updated the club on progress on upgrades at the Fred Brooks Park as part of the Plant America Grant.  Jerry Arnold from the City of Buckhannon reported that electric would soon be hooked up to the shelter and the new benches were in the process of being made.  The concrete pad repair at the shelter would hopefully be done soon, weather permitting.  Hostesses for the evening were Yvonne Foster and Naomi Matthey.
