On Tuesday, November 30, members of Fred Brooks Garden Club decorated the Upshur County Courthouse Christmas tree, with the assistance of the county maintenance crew.

On Wednesday, December 1, members gathered at Libby Randall’s home to assemble greenery swags, which are hung at the courthouse and annex, Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department, Buckhannon City Hall & the Buckhannon Post Office.

West Virginia Prevention Solutions is hoping Upshur County will join several other counties in taking the first steps to implement a program modeled on a successful Icelandic initiative to reduce teenage drinking. It would start with an anonymous survey this fall.
