FAIRMONT — The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats fell to Fairmont State, 45–10, on Saturday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field.
Fairmont State struck quickly, finding the end zone just 46 seconds into the contest on a 63-yard touchdown strike from quarterback Nino Marzullo to receiver Leonard Farrow. The Falcons added another score on a one-yard Marzullo keeper midway through the opening period, taking a 14–0 lead.
The second quarter saw Fairmont connect on three touchdowns— a 39-yard strike to LeJay Hatcher, a 34-yarder to Fred Highsmith, and a two-yard rush by Farrow just before halftime — building a 35–0 advantage by intermission.
Wesleyan found offensive rhythm in the third quarter, orchestrating a 14-play, 69-yard drive capped by a 22-yard field goal from Alexander DeHart to put the Bobcats on the board.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats pieced together another series. Jaylen Bragg connected with Joseph Triplett on a 24-yard touchdown pass, completing an eight-play, 64-yard drive to make it 42–10. DeHart added the extra point.
Fairmont closed the game with a 28-yard field goal from Emmanuel Richardson with just over two minutes remaining, finalizing the 45–10 outcome.
Bragg completed 14 of 25 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 20 yards.
Triplett led all Bobcat receivers with five receptions for 94 yards and the team’s lone touchdown. Jordan Heyward added four catches for 43 yards, and Zion McIntosh contributed two for 38 yards.
Running backs Jayden Williams (20 carries, 57 yards) and Clarence Currin (12 carries, 43 yards) anchored a Wesleyan rushing attack that totaled 121 yards on 48 attempts.
Marcelle Logan paced the defense with six tackles, while Victor Georges added five. Sophiste Jorvelus and Connor Sealock each recorded tackles for loss, and Keymon Jefferson registered a quarterback hurry.
The Bobcats return to Cebe Ross Field on Saturday, Oct. 18 for a 1 p.m. game against West Liberty University.
