FAIRMONT — Fairmont State University will welcome the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2020 back to campus during the University’s Homecoming taking place Thursday, October 7 – Saturday, October 9.
“We extend our congratulations to our 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees,” said Fairmont State University Director of Athletics, Greg Bamberger. “We are pleased to welcome these outstanding Falcons back to campus to honor their exceptional contributions to the advancement of Fairmont State Athletics. I am so glad we could find a way to recognize these former Falcons for their tremendous achievements and that we are able to do so in person, on our beautiful campus.”
The Class of 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees will be honored during the Fairmont State Alumni Celebration on Friday, October 8 in Falcon Center Gym 1. The celebration will begin with a social period at 3:30 p.m., with the program to start at 4 p.m. All award winners will also be recognized on Saturday, October 9 during the Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Duvall Rosier Field before the Homecoming game kicks off against Alderson Broaddus University at 2 p.m.
“This year’s Homecoming celebration is long overdue, as the entire Falcon Family joins together for the first time in two years,” said Fairmont State University President, Mirta M. Martin. “We look forward to celebrating together with our Falcon Family to honor our Class of 2020 Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees.”

Class of 2020 Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees
Vickie Bostic – Women’s Basketball, 1981 – 85 – Vickie Bostic was a standout for the women’s basketball program and is one of just 15 players to score more than 1,300 points in Fairmont State history. Currently, Bostic ranks 14th in Fairmont State history in scoring (1,321), second in assists (628) and is tied for sixth in steals (223). She also ranks eighth all-time in career free-throw percentage.
Bostic was a first team All-WVIAC selection in 1983. A season later, her 188 assists were the fifth-most in a single season at Fairmont State. Playing alongside fellow Fairmont State hall of famer and All-American, Vickie Huffman, Bostic helped the Falcons to a 78-31 record in her four seasons wearing the maroon and white.
Kevin Claudio – Men’s Basketball, 1975 – 79 – Kevin Claudio was a first team All-WVIAC selection in 1978 and helped lead the Falcons to three WVIAC regular season and one WVIAC Tournament titles during his career. Claudio is one of 51 players in program history to score more than 1,000 career points. At the time of induction, Claudio ranks 44th in program history scoring 1,061 points during his four seasons with the Falcons.
In addition to the WVIAC success, Claudio also helped the Falcons to a trio of NAIA national tournament appearances, including a second-round appearance in 1976 when the Falcons won 28-straight games and ended the year with a 28-1 record. During Claudio’s four-year career, the Falcons compiled a record of 96-20 with four 20-win seasons.
Shane Davis – Football, 2000 – 03 – Shane Davis was a four-year letterwinner and starter for the Falcon football program from 2000 through 2003 on the offensive line. The standout was a four-time All-WVIAC selection, including a first team pick in 2000, 2001 and 2003.
Davis was also instrumental in Fairmont State’s WVIAC football championship in 2000 when the Falcons finished the year with a 7-3 record. The Falcons also followed up that campaign with a 6-3 mark in 2001 under head coach Doug Sams.
Terry Galambus – Football, 1972 – 75
Terry Galambus was a two-year starter at quarterback and led the WVIAC in passing as a senior in 1975, averaging 122.6 yards per game. He also led the Falcons in total offense twice (1974, 1975). When he graduated in 1975, Galambus held school records in four passing categories; including passing yards, total offense, passing touchdowns and completions. He still ranks in the top 10 in school history in each category.
Galambus returned to Fairmont State from 1978-82 as Quarterbacks Coach for the football program. During his coaching tenure, he helped Fairmont State to a pair of WVIAC Championships and coached in the 1979 Coal Bowl and 1981 NAIA Playoffs.
Lou Geary – Football & Wrestling, 1976 – 79 – Lou Geary was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Fairmont State football team and a two-year letterwinner on the Falcon wrestling team. He earned All-America and first team All-WVIAC honors as an offensive lineman on Fairmont State’s WVIAC Championship team in 1979. That season, the Falcons went 9-1 and picked up a 14-13 victory over West Virginia State in the Coal Bowl Game.
Following his standout career as a multi-sport athlete, Geary coached wrestling, football and track and field for 30 years in high school and college – winning numerous conference championships and receiving Coach of the Year honors 10 times. He also coached in the WVIAC and was named Coach of the Year for Glenville State cross country and track and field in 1986. He was also a 1993 inductee in the Brooke High School Hall of Fame and won a West Virginia state wrestling championship in 1976.
Hilary Tarasuk – Women’s Swimming, 1997 – 99 – Hilary Tarasuk was a two-year standout for the Fairmont State women’s swimming team after transferring from West Virginia University. While at Fairmont State she earned NCAA All-America honors in three relay events, including the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays. That season, the women’s swim team placed 11th at the 1999 NCAA Championships. The Falcons also won Conference Championships in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay in 1998 and 1999.
She also helped her relay team set school records in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays, and still holds top-10 fastest times in a trio of individual events, including the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Tarasuk continued her success into her career, working for the Secretary of State from 2001-2004 and serving as Deputy Director of Public Policy and Federal Affairs under Governor Joe Manchin in 2005 and 2006.
Randy Toth – Baseball, 1985 – 88 – Randy Toth was a four-year starter and three-time first team All-WVIAC selection as a center fielder for the Fairmont State baseball team from 1985-1988. He earned All-WVIAC accolades following his final three years with the program in 1986, 1987 and 1988.
For his career, Toth batted .390 with 26 home runs, 137 RBIs and 117 runs scored. Toth batted a career-best .419 as a sophomore in 1986, batted .400 with 10 home runs in 1987 and batted .375 with nine home runs as a senior in 1988.
Nathan White – Football, 1998 – 02 – Nathan White was a four-time All-WVIAC selection as a kicker and punter for the Falcons from 1998-2001. He was also selected as a second team All-American by Daktronics in 1999. In addition, he added first team Little All-American honors in 1999, a team that recognizes the best players from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA.
White also marked his name in the Fairmont State record book in a number of categories during his career, including holding school records in both PATs (132) and punt average (40.77). White also ranks second in school history in career field goals (27) and total punt yardage (7,990). He also set school records for longest punt (75 yards) and made field goals in a single game (4).
Emeritus Inductees
Ron Everhart Sr. – Men’s Basketball & Track & Field, 1957 – 61 – Ron Everhart Sr. was a four-year member of the Fairmont State men’s basketball and track & field teams from 1957-61, setting the West Virginia record in the high jump for three-consecutive years.
As a member of the Fairmont State men’s basketball team, Everhart helped the Falcons to a record of 59-44, including a 20-8 mark under head coach Paul Davis in 1957-58. Everhart also set the single-season Fairmont State rebounding record during his career and earned All-WVIAC honors in 1960-61 as a senior.
Don Prickett – Men’s Basketball, 1965 – 68 – Don Prickett was a three-year standout and letterwinner for head coach Joe Retton from 1965 through 1968. During his career the Falcons compiled a record of 71-14 with a WVIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship in 1967-68.
The 1967-68 men’s basketball team also advanced to the national title game and ended the season ranked No. 2 in the country. The Falcons lost in the NAIA National Championship game against Central State (48-51).
