The Tucker County Foundation’s Run For It fundraiser culminates in a 2K walk and a 5K walk/run on Saturday, September 26 in Davis, as part of the annual Leaf Peepers Festival. Racers can also take part virtually.
Participants choose a team or cause to support, and the foundation passes 100% of donations through to that team. Teams raising more also compete for matching money and prizes from the foundation’s central award purse.
The Friends of the Upshur County Public Library and the Buckhannon Community Band are both fielding teams this year. Band donations help cover insurance, sheet music and annual expenses.
Individual racers must register online by September 20. In-person registration is available September 25 and 26 at the Davis Fire Hall.
