The West Virginia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is organizing a volunteer cleanup of trash and flood debris along Pringle Fork inside the Stonecoal Lake Wildlife Management Area, which sits on the Lewis-Upshur line and was hit hard by the torrential rain that flooded both counties on July 21.
Volunteers should bring boots, gloves, water and snacks. Anyone with a truck or trailer is asked to bring it along. Work waivers for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will be available to sign on site.
Organizers ask people to RSVP through the chapter’s event page so they can get a head count. Hunters are welcome to bring a dove or squirrel gun and stay to hunt after the cleanup.
