Girls in Aviation Day, a Women in Aviation International event, is Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old North Central West Virginia Airport terminal, 2000 Aviation Way in Bridgeport. The free event is designed for girls and youth to learn about aviation, STEM and careers across the industry.
Visitors can explore the old terminal, meet local people who work in different parts of the aviation industry and take part in hands-on activities and games. According to the Region VI American Job Centers’ Facebook post, the day also includes giveaways, vehicle fleets and a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter flyover.
Pre-registration is required. The event is organized by the Mountain State Chapter of Women in Aviation International.
