The FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is run in honor of the late FBI Special Agent Jerry Dove, a native West Virginian killed in the line of duty in Miami on April 11, 1986. The race is dedicated to Dove and to all law enforcement officers, firefighters and military personnel killed while serving. It is sponsored by the FBI CJIS Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
The 5K starts at 9 a.m., followed by a kids fun run for children 10 and under at 10 a.m.
Runners who cannot make it to Bridgeport can sign up for the virtual option and run, walk or jog the distance wherever they are.
Early packet pickup for anyone pre-registered by September 1 is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 18, at the Holiday Inn Express, 20 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport.
