Wood Street Park Boat Ramp

The West Virginia Strawberry Festival will honor the late Jack Barker, who organized the annual Canoe Race for many years, with the 20th annual event named in his memory. The Canoe Race, which has become a staple of the festival, will take place at the Riverwalk Park and is open to anyone who wants to participate.

The race follows a course that starts at the Riverwalk Trail Park, goes to the Tennerton Bridge, and then returns to the starting point. The shorter “Sprint” Race starts at the Riverwalk Trail Park and goes to the Poe Bridge before returning.

The race offers a fun and exciting way for people to come together and celebrate the spirit of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, while also honoring the legacy of Jack Barker and his contributions to the event. Registration available on the festival’s website.
