Danny Lee Chewning, age 76, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.
He was born February 24, 1946, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Lloyal Chewning and Mary Elizabeth Tenney Veith. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, who raised him, Waitman and Mary Tenney.
On May 26, 1978, he married Barbara Lantz who survives. He is also survived by one son, Donald Chewning and wife Annette of Camp Hill, PA; one daughter, Nicolette Riley and husband, George of Buckhannon; six grandchildren, Brianna and Thomas Cotlin both of Camp Hill, Bailey Chewning and McKenna Radcliff both of Buckhannon, Katy Knight of Horner, WV and Garrett Riley of Parkersburg, WV; one sister Sandra Payne and husband Mason of Volga, WV; sister-in-law, Carla Reger and husband Bryan of Volga and two special cousins, Mike Tenney of Edgewater, FL and Gene Collins of Burton, OH.
Danny was a coal miner. He loved old cars, fishing, and gardening.
