Cheers! Sales, mimosas and happy shoppers abound at Mountain Chic Boutique’s grand opening

BUCKHANNON – A line of eager shoppers waited to enter Main Street’s newest store, Mountain Chic Boutique, on Saturday during their grand opening.

“I am very overwhelmed, excited and so thankful for the community for coming out and showing their appreciation today,” said Jessica Scarrett, owner of Mountain Chic Boutique, during Saturday’s festivities.

Shoppers were able to browse chic clothing items, try a yummy charcuterie board and drink mimosas while they shopped. The event was also the perfect time to get to know the boutique’s friendly staff, who handed out swag bags filled with goodies to customers who spent $75 or more at checkout during the opening.

Those who received a “Shop Local” swag bag were encouraged to get their photo taken in front of the neon sign and pink couch – the perfect photo op.

To make things even more fun, Scarrett was thankful to partner with Buckhannon businesses to offer shoppers a unique opportunity to win one of three raffle baskets with items from both Mountain Chic Boutique and other small businesses.

Community officials also joined in the celebration during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday. In attendance were mayor Robbie Skinner, city recorder Randy Sanders, county commissioners Kristie Tenney and Sam Nolte, and members of the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce. The cut of the ribbon marked Scarrett’s official welcome to the Main Street community.

For those who could not make it to the weekend events, don’t sweat it! Scarrett invites all to stop by the boutique to say hello, shop and capture cute photos in front of the neon sign.

“When [customers] walk in our store, we want them to be super comfortable and have a nice experience walking into Mountain Chic Boutique while finding everything from the perfect size of jeans to the perfect gift for their mother or their daughter, and – obviously – a cute outfit for themselves,” Scarrett said.
