Buford Lee Snyder, 89, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home.
He was born May 18, 1931, in Upshur County, W.Va., a son of the late Lemuel and Lova Hornbeck Snyder.
On August 7, 1959, he married Iva May Swick who preceded him in death on May 15, 2018.
He is survived by one son, Kenny Wooddell and wife Teresa of FL; two granddaughters, Letetia Hawkins and husband Nicholas of Buckhannon and Valerie Everson and husband Clay of Belington, W.Va.; one grandson, Christopher George of Fairmont, W.Va.; great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Hawkins and Cameron and Dillon Everson; one brother, Donnie Snyder of Fla. and three sisters, Katie Andrick of Md., Mildred Skelton and husband Pete of Buckhannon and Lola Jones.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Roger Wooddell; one daughter, Debra Addis; two brothers, Marvin and Mason Snyder and two sisters, Thelma Harper and Geneva Gordon.
Mr. Snyder was a retired coal miner for Upshur Coal. He was an outdoorsman that loved hunting.
Friends will be received Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park.
