Buckhannon schedules yard waste pickup dates through November

Buckhannon residents can schedule curbside yard waste collection on select summer dates and every Friday from September through November, or drop off bagged waste at the Transfer Station for free.

City of Buckhannon residents will have multiple opportunities this summer and fall to have yard waste collected curbside. The city has set specific dates in June, July, and August, before transitioning to a weekly schedule from September through November.

“Residents must contact Buckhannon City Hall to be placed on the collection list,” the city says.

Yard waste debris pickup dates are:

  • June 6, 2025
  • June 27, 2025
  • July 11, 2025
  • July 25, 2025
  • August 8, 2025
  • August 22, 2025

Beginning September 1, collection will occur every Friday through November 30.

City residents may also take bagged yard waste debris to the Transfer Station during normal operating hours free of charge. In addition, each household can bring up to two truckloads per year at no cost.
