Bobcat golfers take ninth at MEC Tournament

WARREN, Ohio — Freshman Alexis Abalos registered a 240 in his first career outing at the Mountain East Conference Championship, as the West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf team finished ninth overall at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio.
 
Abalos’ lowest round came on day two when he shot a 76. He sank three birdies on the back nine of his second round. Abalos scored par or birdie in 31 of 54 holes in the three-round event.
 
Davis Haynes recorded a 168 in his two rounds at the MEC Tournament. 

Dan Morgret fired a 174. Rounding out the scoring for WVWC was Rigel Wilson, who shot a 180, and Matt Allen, who finished with a 184.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf will wrap up the fall season at the Shriners Hospital for Kids Invitational on Oct. 23-24 at Green Hills Country Club in Ravenswood, W.Va.
