Bobcat golfers finish eighth in Golden Eagle Invitational

CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf team finished tied for eighth place in the Golden Eagle Invitational at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, W.Va.
 
Davis Haynes held the lowest score for Wesleyan. Haynes’ first round totaled 74 strokes, and he improved his second round to total 72 strokes. The freshman from Ripley, W.Va., finished tied for 11th place with a total score of 146.
 
Alexis Abalos turned in another productive performance. Abalos’ second round was two strokes under par, shooting a 70. Abalos placed tied for 33rd individually with a total of 151 strokes. Dan Morgret inked two rounds of 77 strokes and finished with 154 strokes in the event. Matt Allen shot a 161 in the Golden Eagle Invitational while Miciah Kennedy finished with a 178.
 
The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf team will return to the course next Monday (Sept. 20) for the Dr. Wally Edgell Collegiate Invitational at Canaan Valley Resort in Davis, W.Va.
